Check out our recommendations of the best webtoons to binge this week as we creep closer to Halloween!
A new month means new reads! But since it's October, it's only fair we talk about webtoons that vibe with the Halloween spirit. So this week, I made a list of seven webtoon recommendations for you that will lift your Halloween spirits up! The best thing about them is that they are all new! So hop on and enjoy the ride they take you in!
And as always, hope you enjoy these webtoon recommendations as much as I did.
Webtoon at Midnight
By Re Me & Wmw
Genre: Horror
Updates every Sunday/Monday
For this year's Halloween LINE WEBTOON has a special treat for us. A collection of short stories penned by users from r/NoSleep! These are short, twisted, and guaranteed to keep you awake at night. The series is planned to be five stories long, with the first story already wrapped up in 3 chapters.
True to its name, Webtoon at Midnight updates every Sunday at midnight for maximum spooky time reading.
Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story
By Lemon Frog and A-jin
Genre: Fantasy and Romance
Updates every Tuesday
It wouldn’t be my recommendation list without an Isekai webtoon.
Meet Suna, a woman reincarnated as Edith Rigelhof, the villainess from her favorite novel. The twist to her story is that she will die if she doesn’t change her ways. So Suna plots to do just that by trying to marry the second lead, Killian Rudwick. The problem is that Killian loves the original MC and hates Edith’s guts. While this plotline seems typical at first, it changes in a way that will surprise you.
Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story was released recently and only has 10 chapters out so far.
School Bus Graveyard
By Red
Genre: Thriller and Horror
Updates every Wednesday
Unlike the others on the list, School Bus Graveyard isn’t a new webtoon series but one that just came out with its second season. It is a favorite of mine which I have been following since it was on Webtoon Canvas - a place for small creators to find readers.
Ashlyn is a loner with no friends. Despite what others may think, she is happy keeping it that way. However, that quickly changes during a class trip where she gets trapped in some kind of curse along with a few other students. Now, they need to survive every night by fighting off the phantoms that are desperate to kill them.
There's nothing like making lifelong friends in life-threatening situations. Season 2 came out in September with a total of 52 episodes for you to binge!
The Nine Heavens Swordmaster
By Saint Nine, KADOK and JO JIN HAENG
Genre: Action Fantasy
Updates every Thursday
The Nine Heavens Swordmaster is about young Yeon Jeokha. It’s an action fantasy webtoon that recently came out on Tapas.
Yeon is abused by his stepmother. He is finally able to escape when a spirit in the mirror teaches him the Nine Heavens Sword Art - a legendary, sacred technique. It has an ancient Asian setting and pretty art. The chapters are also really long. So, if you are in the mood for something different, then I would definitely recommend this one.
Silent Screams
By Glamist
Genre: Thriller and Horror
Updates every Friday
Another webtoon that I was a huge fan of during its Canvas years is Silent Screams. It recently came out as a WEBTOON ORIGINAL with 8 chapters out so far.
This is a psychological thriller that comes with bits of horror mixed into it. Theo’s mother suddenly disappears, leaving him alone with his hateful stepfather. Trapped inside that home, everything that could go wrong is about to go wrong.
Since the story is still new and looks very different from what it was on Canvas, it's shaping up to be a thrilling ride.
The Killing Vote
By Jung Ipum and Eom Seyun
Genre: Drama and Mystery
Updates every Saturday
Another Tapas webtoon on our recommendation list!
How many times have we seen criminals get away with crimes because there wasn’t enough evidence? We know they did it, and so does the judge. Yet the criminals get away scot-free. What if there was a way to punish them? What if you were given the chance to punish the criminals? The Killing Vote is simply that. It's the story of how people are given the power to choose the verdict.
If you want to see more of the story, then check out The Killing Vote drama adaptation that was released in September.
Klimt’s Kisses
By Limes
Genre: Romance
Updates every Sunday
Ending the list with one of my favorites!
Millie never cared much about what she wanted from life. She had a job and was in a relationship that left her breathless. What more was there to ask for? Then came her new roommate, Finn, and his girlfriend. Their chemistry is unmatched and some lines are on their way to being blurred. For the first time, Millie wonders about what she really wants. Gray morality with boundaries crossed, Klimt’s Kisses is for those who love sociology.
