DC Comics is having one hell of a 2024 with the start of their new Absolute Universe. December looks like it will cap off the publisher’s massive year with a fantastic collection of incredible comics. From series debuts to hit ongoing comics, DC’s immaculate lineup of comics will surely leave fans excited for more.  

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect this December from DC Comics:

• #1 issues for many exciting new series. 
• A wide selection of trade paperbacks and hardcovers going into 2025.
• Ongoing comics with plenty of tie-ups with the Absolute Universe. 

#1 Issues

DC is capping off the year with a solid lineup of new series debuts. Two-Face by Christian Ward and Fabio Veras is the one I’m most excited about as it marks the first time the villain has gotten an ongoing comic. Seeing more of Batman’s rogues gallery is always a treat, and Two-Face is up there among the most compelling. Another one I’m looking forward to as well is the new Metamorpho: The Element Man series by Al Ewing and Steve Lieber. Ewing has been on a tear the last few years and his comics are always worth checking out.

With 2024 quickly coming to a close, the latest DC Comics solicitations give a peak into the publisher’s slate for the early parts of 2025. You can expect plenty of hardcovers and trade paperbacks of many of the best comics of 2024 as well as reprints of classic comics. The DC Finest line looks like a great way for new readers and old collectors alike to dive into many of DC’s classic storylines.
