Bronze Faces
Description
Bronze Faces follows three childhood friends in Soho, London, as the British Museum prepares to acquire works by Timi's father, the Nigerian artist Adewale Balogun. Invited as a 'guest of honor,' Timi, Sango, and Gbonka watch a triumph turn sour: what the Museum calls a landmark acquisition feels like brazen cultural theft to them. After a night of drinking and resolve, they hatch a high-stakes plan to steal the artworks back. Written by Shobo and Shof, with evocative art by Alexandre Tefenkgi, Bronze Faces draws on Nigerian heritage and Yoruba mythology to frame a modern heist that doubles as a meditation on identity, memory, and repatriation. This volume collects Bronze Faces #1-6, showcasing a bold collaboration that blends action, mystery, and a sharp cultural-critical edge. A standout new voice in graphic storytelling.
