DIGGER #2 (OF 4)
Description
In 1930s Veracruz, locals make money guiding academics through the region. A local Kid teams with the man locals avoid—the one they call “El Excavador”—as they try to earn money for the Kid's sick grandmother. The Digger and the Kid set off toward the ruins, but the mess The Digger left behind in Puerto Mexico catches up to them both. This second issue of the miniseries expands the hard-edged, adventure-driven world created by writer T.S. Luther and artist Sam Gudilin. The story blends noir grit with historical flavor, while delivering tense chase sequences, political intrigue, and a developing bond between two protagonists navigating danger and moral choices. The art, with Sam Gudilin’s clean lines and expressive characters, plus a cover duo that includes Michael Nelsen on CVR B, anchors a vivid, YA-tinged adventure that feels both cinematic and personal.
